Passive copper cable are widely chosen by data centers for connecting servers to servers or servers to the Top Of the Rack (TOR) switch as they are passive, consume zero power, have the lowest latency and cost-effective. Active copper cable is less expensive and can support transmission up to 15 meters with low power consumption, which can satisfies the regular interconnection requirement for distance and cooling in most data center. PancomLink offers a wide range of products for 0.5m to 15m lengths and in QSFP+, SFP+ form factors. The unique EEPROM technique has been used to ensure DACs compatible with different brands on the original switches and routers.
QSFP+ to 4x SFP+ breakout copper DAC cable, it's an application for the link with 40Gb/s rate switch to 4 upstream 10Gb/s device. bridge the gap between your 10G and 40G capable switches/host adapters. This breakout cable compliant to SFP+ & QSFP MSA, supports both 10G/40G Ethernet standards. Active DAC design has a signal amplification and a class 4x 10G Clock and Data Recovery (CDR) or Equalizer technology to support longer distances than passive QSFP+ DAC cable.
