Description
● 1x9 Transceiver:
1x9 transceiver is designed for use in 0~2.67Gbps data links. It provides SC/FC/ST optical port that is compatible with the industry standard connector. Both the transmitter and the receiver are packaged together with a top plastic cover and bottom shield.
1×9 is a fiber optic transceiver in the industry standard 9 single in-line (pin) package (SIP) form factor. It is developed many years ago before GBICs and SFPs. It is a quite traditional transceiver type mainly used for industrial communications including media converters, optical mode converters, fiber-optic transmission system, and some other industrial Ethernet switches. The overall package concept for 1×9 transceivers consists of three basic elements: the two optical subassemblies, an electrical subassembly and the housing with integral duplex or simplex SC/ST/FC connector.
Unlike SFP transceiver, 1×9 transceiver provides SC, ST, FC and pigtail connector and operating voltage at +3.3 V or +5.0 V for choose. Since it cannot support pluggable but with a bigger dimension, the applications were restricted in low-speed data rate and industrial control communication, and it is widely replaced by more popular SFP optics.

Classified by Distance: SX usually less than 2km, LX 10-20km, EX–1310nm or 1550nm for distances of 40km, ZX–1550nm for distances of 80km, EZX–1550nm for distances of 120km to 160km.
