DAC Direct Attach Copper Cables are further divided into passive copper cable and active copper cable. In most data center, most server to server connections require 2-5 meters, while rack to rack connections are required to be connected by 8-12 meters cables. Passive copper cable are widely chosen by data centers for connecting servers to servers or servers to the Top Of the Rack (TOR) switch as they are passive, consume zero power, have the lowest latency and cost-effective. Active copper cable is less expensive and can support transmission up to 15 meters with low power consumption, which can satisfies the regular interconnection requirement for distance and cooling in most data center. PancomLink offers a wide range of products for 0.5m to 15m lengths and in QSFP+, SFP+ form factors. The unique EEPROM technique has been used to ensure DACs compatible with different brands on the original switches and routers.
56Gb/s QSFP+ FDR DAC Cable are designed as a more cost-effective and lower power alternative to optical cable assemblies for short length interconnects between active network equipment in data center and enterprise networking Infiniband applications. QSFP+ FDR DAC Cable assemblies are constructed using premium 100 OHM cable and feature QSFP+ (SFF-8436) connectors with pull-tab ejectors for easy connection to equipment, support up to 4x14Gb per lane for up to 56Gb, meeting or exceeding current standards specifications.
