DAC Direct Attach Copper Cables are further divided into passive copper cable and active copper cable. In most data center, most server to server connections require 2-5 meters, while rack to rack connections are required to be connected by 8-12 meters cables. Passive copper cable are widely chosen by data centers for connecting servers to servers or servers to the Top Of the Rack (TOR) switch as they are passive, consume zero power, have the lowest latency and cost-effective. Active copper cable is less expensive and can support transmission up to 15 meters with low power consumption, which can satisfies the regular interconnection requirement for distance and cooling in most data center. PancomLink offers a wide range of products for 0.5m to 15m lengths and in QSFP+, SFP+ form factors. The unique EEPROM technique has been used to ensure DACs compatible with different brands on the original switches and routers.
100G QSFP28 to 2x50G QSFP28 Copper Breakout Cable application is a "Y" assembly which is a hybrid transition from a QSFP on one terminal to two individual QSFP on the other. The QSFP28 to 2x50G QSFP Break-out DAC Cable, the terminal of 50G QSFP28 offers channel 1 and channel 2, each operating at up to 28Gbps.
